Dorking & District Radio Society

Dorking is an historic market town at the intersection of two major roads: A24 through the picturesque Mole Gap, and A25 along the foot of the North Downs. Dorking also has three railway stations on two intersecting lines. It is surrounded by stunning scenery, including Leith Hill, Ranmore and Box Hill.

Two miles away to the North West, is the famous Polesden Lacey house and gardens. This affords clear views across London and is the location of one of our annual special event stations operating during the annual heritage weekend.

Dorking is also famous for a breed of chicken. This is celebrated at the A24/A25 junction with a giant metal sculpture of the fabled creature. The mythical cockerel may even have been spotted roosting on an appropriate metal perch...
